First Red Card In 2018 World Cup Recorded As Player Is Sent Off After 3 Minutes

Colombian player Carlos Sanchez had a nightmare three minutes after he was given the first card of the 2018 World Cup and mocked for trying to deny the blatant handball.

This was during the match on Tuesday between Colombia and Japan at the Mordovia Arena in Saransk. After a defensive calamity in the opening moments, the former Aston Villa midfielder blocked a goal-bound shot with his right arm.

Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez made the initial error, misjudging a long ball over the top. Yuya Osaka got away from the Colombia defence but his shot was saved by Arsenal ‘keeper David Ospina.

But former Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa followed up and and his shot was blocked Sanchez.
